Macintosh 128K
Macintosh 128K
The original Macintosh was released in January 1984 after the groundbreaking Super Bowl ad. The ad depicted the coming of the Mac as “freeing” computer users from an Orwellian 1984 world.
This Mac established the all-in-one design. It was the first computer to use an affordable Graphical User Interface. It shipped with a keyboard and mouse and was the first computer to include a floppy drive that took 400 kB 3.5-inch disks. Both the OS and file storage are handled by floppy disks since the Mac 128K has no internal hard disk.
