Countdown Timers for Presenters

Many of my presentations either require breaks or audience participation time. To help the timing stay on track, I created simple countdown movies that I insert into Keynote (or PowerPoint) presentations. They count down the remaining time on the presentation screen. Other presenters have also found these useful and you may download them for FREE.

Curriculum Focused Technology Infusion (CFTI)

I am available to work with your school or district to help you effectively infuse technology into your curriculum. Please contact me so we can discuss your needs and schedule.

Curriculum Focused Technology Infusion (CFTI) is a process for staff development which allows teachers to learn how to effectively use and teach technology within the context of their curriculum. Technology training occurs concurrently with curriculum planning using this process, rather than teaching isolated tech skills to teachers and hoping that these skills will appear in lessons.

Proven Effective

This process has been delivered and revised for more than 6 districts (K - 12) since 1997. The process begins with a presentation of both research and effective curriculum technology infusion. Teachers are then presented a structured framework for curriculum planning with technology. Many examples are shown which have been created using this process.

Hands-On

Teachers plan their own lesson using the provided framework: brainstorming guide, curriculum planning draft, model project, QuickStart Guides (or other how-to materials if necessary), project expectations and grading rubric, and final curriculum summary. Teachers leave with a complete lesson which they have planned and are now prepared to teach.

Clear Focus

QuickStart Guides are instructional technology skill tools. These guides allow users to quickly and easily begin using an unfamiliar application so they can get right to work on curricular content. A long session is available to teach teachers how to design effective QuickStart Guides.

Curriculum Focused Technology Infusion 1 (CFTI1)

Curriculum Focused Technology Infusion 1 (CFTI1) is a process which allows classroom teachers to learn new technology and apply it to their curriculum. Teachers will leave this class with a lesson or unit that can be used in the classroom. CFTI1 includes research and practice on teaching and learning, a detailed explanation of the CFTI process, a variety of model projects which have been developed using the process, and the opportunity to complete a project or lesson. Ample curriculum development time is allotted with technology instructor support.

Curriculum Focused Technology Infusion 2 (CFTI2)

Curriculum Focused Technology Infusion 2 (CFTI2) offers supported curriculum development time for teachers to design a new project using the CFTI process in a supported environment. The prerequisite for CFTI2 is twofold: attendees must have completed CFTI1 and used their CFTI project with their students. CFTI2 attendees will discuss their previous CFTI experiences(s) during the class. Like CFTI1, teachers leave this class with a technology-infused lesson which they have developed and can use in their classroom.
